Aussie Daft!

If you don't already know, I am a huge fan of Formula One.  I have watched it for as long as I can remember, back in the days where there were races on TV at 3am in the morning.

Back then, the driver I was cheering on was David Coulthard - he comes from the same region as me!  Fast forward to 2007 and as well as cheering for DC, I couldn't help but also root for DC's teammate Mark Webber - another intelligent driver and nice guy.  Following on from Webber's retirement, his replacement at Red Bull in 2014 was another Aussie, Daniel Ricciardo.  It is hard not to warm to Ricciardo, as he is one of the smiliest and most genuine drivers on the grid - he is also a very talented racing driver, producing some wonderful overtakes, and completely outshining champion Sebastian Vettel in his first season with Red Bull.

What a squad!

Anyway..... July 1st was Daniel Ricciardo's birthday, and in celebration of this there was a competition over on twitter.... and I was SO lucky to be announced as the winner!

And here is my prize:

How amazing are these!  Now I'm hunting for a clear acrylic box to keep them in, so they can go on display.

I also received an amazing gift from my friend Claire and her dad.  A personalised signed copy of Mark Webber's book - how awesome, and what a lovely surprise ♥!

I used to watch F1 in the 90s. I was a big fan of Frentzen LOL! But then I lost touch, but I sometimes watch it these days!

  3. That's awesome! I haven't watched much Formula 1 (except Monaco) over the years, but I'm a big NASCAR fan here in the US - so I can definitely understand how awesome this is!

    1. Thank you! Monaco is quite unique isn't it. One day I dream of attending that GP! I don't know much about NASCAR... although I think Juan Pablo Montoya moved over to that series? :) x
